Chemical Soldier/NCO of the Year Competition

CSM George Murray Leadership Award

 

The CSM(R) George L Murray Award Criteria:

  • Soldier must possess primary MOS of 74D.

  • Soldier must be recommended by unit chain of command, and endorsed by SGM/CSM

  • Soldier must present packet when in processing for competition.

  • Packet will include Soldier’s bio, ERB, copy of recommendation/endorsement, APFT score card, CTT score sheet, and weapons qualification card.

  • Points will be awarded IAW with the Score and Points Table.


 1.      APFT/Weigh in

  • Soldier/NCO will complete APFT within thirty days of submission date on packet. 

  • APFT score will determine number of points awarded to final competition.

  • Alternate event can be used for Soldier with valid profile; however, no more than 60 points can be awarded for the event.

  • Failure to score 60 points or higher in each event will result in drop from competition.

  • Failure to meet height/weight standards will result in drop from the competition.

2.     Weapons Qualification

  • Soldier must qualify with weapon.

  • Number of target hits will determine the final score for the event.

  • Failure to qualify will result in drop from competition.

 3.      Written Test

  • Soldier will take test to assess knowledge of basic NBC principles.

  • On-Line test will consist of 50 questions with a time limit of 60 minutes.

  • Test will be proctored by 1SG or Commander.

  • NCO will test at the BNCOC Level.

  • Soldier will test at the OSUT Level.

  • Outside notes are permitted; however, if on electronic device, no communication devices will be hooked to the device (i.e. no modem on a laptop).

  • Must score a 70% or higher to continue.

  • The score achieved on the test will determine the points awarded.

  • Below 70% will result in drop from competition.

 4.      CTT

  • Soldier will test all tasks within their Skill Level.

  • Must pass with a 1st time “GO” on all tasks continue.

  • Any task not receiving a 1st time “GO” will result in drop from competition.

NOTE:

  • Winners name will be displayed on a Plaque and maintained at the Chemical School
  • Awards will be presented during Regimental Week.
  • Winners will be announced and awarded at the Green Dragon Ball.
